Hope everyone had a fabulous and filling Thansgiving!!! So much to be thankful for this year which made the holiday that much more enjoyable. My weekend was especially nice spent with family and good friends, though I did miss my Sarah dearly as this was her first Thanksgiving away from home. Can't wait to see you at Christmas S!!!

Seperation Anxiety At Its Finest

Dear bloggers,
It has been far far too long since our last encounter!! I have sincerely missed this wondrous creative outlet and I have decided today that I will once again be blogging regularly. My deepest apologies for the impromptu hiatus, it was just as awful for me, I promise you!

So, to get back into the swing of things I will have to gush about something that has been a buzz around fellow fashion blogs for the last week...LANVIN HEARTS H&M. I am absolutely dying with excitement! This comes after Lanvin's creative director Alber Elbaz had said continuously that he "would never do a mass-market collection" though he is now justifying this in saying that this is not Lanvin going public but instead H&M becoming luxury, according to H&M's press release. I am absolutely in lust with the bright colors as well as the variety of textures and embellishments. Though the collection is still a bit expensive for those of us on a college budget it is still a bargain compared to Lanvin's original RTW collection. I will be counting down the days until it hits stores worldwide November 23.

andddd we're BACK!

Hello. We deeply regret our lack of posts in the few months. Busy lives, activities, finals, everything do not allow much time for blogging. Its awful. Anyways, this summer a suree goal of ours is to reenter the blogosphere! We've missed you!

I will begin by what I discovered today--> tom's WEDGES!!!!!

So, as you may not know actually, I LOVE the Tom's company. Its all about giving, because when you buy a pair of their shoes, the company gives a pair of shoes to kids in need. Its so awesome, the shoes are super comfortable, and its all about remembering those less fortunate than ourselves.

However, some of the shoes are a bit ugly. They came out with boots that were kinda heinous, no offense to any fans. Their flats are adorable, the metallic ones are by far my fave.

BUT! When i stumbled upon THESE babys, they flew to the top of my "must have" list.

I regret to inform you all that one of my favorite designers, Alexander McQueen is dead at 40. He was found in his London home this morning, according to leading fashion source fashionista it has been reported that McQueen hanged himself. The site also reported as to seeing Anna Wintour, Vogue editor, quickly leaving the BCBG show after receiving the news. This phenomenally talented man will be sorely missed and we give our deepest condolences to all who knew him.

I'm sure you all have at least one old T-shirt in the back of your closet or dresser that just collects dust but, for whatever reason, you just can't through it away. Well for my roommate, Hannah, that T-shirt is about three sizes too small and has a cartoon monster on the front (yes, you read that correctly). Since I have prohibited her from wearing it she has been desperate to find a way to make use of this catastrophe while saving it's sentimental value (something that could not be done from my suggestion which was as a rag). So today, while procrastinating, I happened to stumble upon blogger Tina Roth Eisenberg's blog SWISS MISS and then subsequently found Hello Rewind. These entrepreneurs have made a business out of old T-shirts!! The goal: Turn the world's favorite old T-shirts into memorable and lasting Laptop cases, could that be any more perfect?? Here's hoping Hannah will finally be able to find a new use for her favorite article of clothing, I'll be sure to let you know what she decides!!

A LONG Time Coming

It’s one of my favorite times of the year again, Award Season!! Though some people around this area of the country prefer duck season to me you’ve just got to love that red carpet! Even if you could care less about who wins the little statues, the red carpet is a feast for the eye! This year is sure to be a great show of fashion as we have already seen with the Golden Globes and The Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Award shows. I was better impressed by the SAGs but each brought out some amazing designs, even if fashion had to compete with rain. Some of my favorites sported structured shoulders, asymmetrical cuts, metalics, gorgeous beading, and plunging backs. These picks are just a sample of the fabulosity seen at the shows!!!

Black on Black on Black...

Friends have always told me that I need more color in my wardrobe, (and no I am not some gothic chick who spends her time in dark corners) but honestly there is just something about that color black. I love the way black works in clothes. Black can be chic and elegant in an always fashionable LBD, or loud and edgy when shown in a distressed rock concert T-shirtand black nailpolish. Recently that ever so stylish shade has been appearing alone, or with just a splash of color, in monochromatic outfits everywhere. And I am LOVING IT!!! Above are just a few examples of how to work this fashion forward color. Enjoy!

Feeling Good About Text Books!!

I just recently visited Chegg.com to rent the rest of my books for this semester, then when checking out was greeted with the happy satisfaction of knowing that my purchase of four books was also contributing to the planting of four trees in the area of my choice. The options were Guatemala, Cameroon, or Lake Tahoe. Though I wished I could have spread out my trees, I decided to plant them in the gorgeous hills of Lake Tahoe. On top of the environmental movement from Chegg they also had a message at the bottom of the confirmation saying, “For every textbook you rented, Chegg will make a donation to the Unicef Haiti Relief effort, guaranteeing a minimum of $100,000.” Personally I think this is a great way for big businesses to show their support the people suffering around the world. We are all trying to do our part to help the victims of this natural disaster and it seems that any little bit would help. Many Universities have also rallied for donations whether it be cans around campus or blood drives people are coming together to help those in need, and that is truly a great thing to see.

Her name, Miroslava Duma. After running into fabulous picture, after fabulous picture of her within this world of blogs, I fell in love. She is a pretty hard person to track down information on, but to me the mystery is just all the more intriguing. It seems that she works for Harper's Bazaar in Russia, in what appears to be a very high position (correct me if I'm wrong). She is young and has style for miles, not to mention apparently an excessive designer wardrobe at her fingertips. Mirolslava finds a way to combine simple basics with fabulous statement pieces, while still managing to maintain that sweet girl-next-door kind of glow. I am totally just gawking and drooling over her wardrobe and will be using her as style inspiration for weeks to come. Also I am personally thrilled to see a petite brunette getting some of the fashion attention, not to offend you tall, lanky blondes out there (Sarah!!)

Where have I been??

The other day as I am standing in the line at, of all places, Walmart (yes, I am in the South!) I noticed this OK! Magazine Cover. I stopped and stared for a bit totally in shock! See, I usually pride myself on being pretty up to date on any and all celebrity gossip, it is my guilty pleasure of sorts, but I was completely clueless to this relationship, let alone new spawn. The baby is beautiful and after further research it seems Djimon and Kimora are a happily married couple, which we all know seems so rare in Hollywood these days. So to my surprise another super celebrity baby has been born. The baby's name is Kenzo Lee and though that is a little different from most common American names I suppose it is still better than Pilot Inspektor, thank you for that one Jason Lee.

So I'm in the atlanta airport waiting for my flight to LAX.. This airport is arguably one of the best for "people-watching". I'm listening to "horchata" by vampire weekend, I don't know how to make it a link on my blackberry, so just youtube it its a good one. Airport style report-- travelers look so much chicer with minimal luggage, layers and a comfortable chic attitude. I brought WAY too much baggage, and I learned from Delta's sky magazine that in the words of Diane Von Furstenberg (love her!) "if you can pack a suitcase well, it means you have balanced your life". So, added to the resolution/goal list is minimalist travel. I'll try to sneak some pictures of traveling fashionistas to share with you all the truth that less is more.

More on my beloved Hunters...

As you can see one of my favorite Christmas presents this year was a brand new pair of Hunter Original rain boots. Though it was bittersweet as I have been LUSTING after a pair in either red or black, and my amazing mother could only find brown =[ So in comes my dilemma... After calling a few Nordstrom stores close to home I find out that (of course.) not one Nordstrom nationwide has my size in either color, ouch. I don't know what to do personally as I also received a pair of brown leather boots for Christmas. I will turn it to you new found readers, do I keep them and continue with two pairs of brown boots? Or is there another solution out there??

New Decade. New Resolutions.

Happy 2010!! KaiSarah being my first big step of the decade has got my thinking about this next ten year span. As 18 and 19 year old college students a whole heck of a lot could happen within this new decade for Sarah and I. Graduation? First real job? Marriage? Kids?? It completely blows my mind!! So as an attempt to tame my overwhelming excitement and fear of this New Year I am setting some goals (I will try not to call them resolutions as it seems that just sets you up for failure). For 2010 I hope to take more fashion risks, make fewer judgments of people, try to read at least 2 books a month, blog daily, and of course the cliché to get in shape. This is my first step in that direction and I couldn’t be more excited!!

I brought home my stack of magazines that had sadly been pushed aside thanks to finals, in order to indulge over break in the unread pages. Bazaar's cover girl for January 2010 was Kate Hudson (loveee her!), and this subscriber's cover is one of my favorite magazine covers --ever. The photoshoot by Nancy Jo Sales and photographer Peter Lindbergh "Glam Girl Next Door" features Hudson's idea of shooting "high-glamour looks in everyday locations." If you have yet to see it, let me tell you, its genius.

so, as we're getting to know each other, you should know that one of my top 10 loves in life is dancing. I have been dancing since I was 3, and although college is more of a priority now, I will always be a dancer. Hence, if I post videos of dances that inspire me you'll understand why.

Hello, welcome to kaisarahsarah.com

We are Kaila and Sarah, two bi-coastal best friends who started this blog together to keep in touch while away at college. Over the past 6 months, we have become obsessed with blogs, and it was a natural progression to start our own. is a collection of our daily obsessions.

kaisarahsarah obviously comes from our two names put together, but we pronounce it like the spanish phrase "que sera sera" which means "whatever will be, will be" .. its a song, check it out.

We grew up on the same street, on Cape Cod, Massachusetts. We now split for college, Sarah goes to the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, and Kaila attends East Carolina University in Greenville, NC. We have begun a habit of sharing blogs and other web findings with each other, and decided to make the collection into a blog for all to enjoy.

You'll begin to notice our personal styles, which are quite different but have a fair common ground.
